Boy Abunda Says He’s Open to Run in Congress on 2022 Election
The “Asia’s King of Talk” Tito Boy Abunda said he is open to run for a position in Congress in the incoming May, 2022 election.
Tito Boy has previously stated that he will not run for Senate in the 2022 elections. “I don’t have the strength. I don’t have the money. I don’t have a national political organization,” he admitted.
He believes that if he wants to run for government office, he needs a national organization to help him campaign. He added that although he has been persuaded several times to run for senator, he declined due to lack of organization.

He went on to say that he doesn’t have the “apoy sa bituka” or “drive” to be in the Senate. On the other hand, he is willing to run for a local position, whether elected or appointed.
Tito Boy indicated that if he runs for Congress, he will not rule out the possibility, especially when his older sister, the incumbent Congresswoman of Eastern Samar, encourages him to run. His family is said to be well-versed in the public sector.
But the mindset of so-called Asia’s King of Talk is different, “You fight to win. You set out to war to win, you don’t just display your speaking prowess.” He said there is more reason for him to try to run for Congress after ABS-CBN was shut down last year. He admits he was very emotional and was angry.
The King of Talk is one of the most well-known figures in his profession. He is an award-winning host who is being pressured to take a public service role because of his forceful and sensible stance.
