Manny Pacquiao Hits PDP-Laban “Rebellious” Members In Interview
PACQUIAO HITS PDP-LABAN – Fighting Senator Manny Pacquiao took jabs against “rebellious” members of the PDP Laban party.
For the past few months, it seemed like there was trouble in paradise for PDP-Laban due to Pacquiao. Earlier in the year, Pacquiao became vocal against China creeping into Philippines waters.
As such, President Duterte’s spokesperson, Harry Roque, said that Pacquiao should educate himself more on the topic. But recently, Pacquiao likely hit a nerve when he publicly stated that the level of corruption in the Philippines tripled.
Since then, Duterte and his camp have been aggressive in their attacks against the Senator. On Monday, Roque stressed that Senator Pacquiao’s remarks against the government is simply politicking.
During a press briefing, Roque said “Pulitika po ‘yan. Alam naman nating lahat na gustong tumakbong presidente ni Senator Pacquiao“. Additionally, members of the PDP-Laban party also spoke against Pacquiao.
PDP Vice-Chairman and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and party deputy Secretary-General Melvin allegedly made moves against the Senator. Moreover, Pacquiao said that they called an illegal assembly to unseat him as party president.
Because of this, Pacquiao was left to ask what violation he did to merit such an act. During an interview with ABS-CBN, he said:
“What violation na ginawa ko para magalit sila, para tanggalin nila ako? Oh diba? Is that due process? May due process ba yan ang gagawin nila? Oh baka, sila mismo, itong si Cusi mismo ang hindi sumusunod sa due process”
Furthermore, Pacquiao accused Cusi of simply using PDP-Laban as a stepping stone for their own selfish interests. Meanwhile, Matibag took a jab at Pacquiao saying he should just focus on training for his fight. “When he becomes reasonable, then we can meet and talk about his issues”, he said.
