Man Got Millions Due To Bank Error But Jailed For Theft

Man Who Got Millions In An Instant Due To Bank Error Jailed

BANK ERROR MILLIONAIRE – A man instantly got millions due to a glitch in the bank’s mobile app. However, instead of celebrating, he got jailed instead.

Last year, a Russian named Roman Yurkov was in complete awe after seeing $1.3 million in his account. According to authorities, this was due to a glitch on the bank’s mobile app during an update.

But, instead of questioning what happened, Yurkov took this opportunity to live the life he had always wanted. Deciding not to tell the bank, Yurkov, between May 31, and June 1, had over 220 separate transactions.

Investigators said he “spent the money at his own discretion” and purchased a BWM, a Mercedes, and an iPhone. Additionally, he got four new apartments but decided not to purchase an airplane. “I bought everything I wanted. Well, only I didn’t buy the plane“, he quipped.

However, his quick rise to financial freedom ended up with the court sentencing him guilty of theft. As such, he was required to spend six years in prison for his crimes.

Meanwhile, Yurkov defended himself saying that everything that he did was above board and that he was communicating with bank employees. Following this, his account that had $540,000 was blocked and seized in December 2020.

On June 24, he was found “guilty of theft from a bank account”. Moreover, the court emphasized that the crime he did was “committed on an especially large scale”. Along with this, the court said he was taking advantage of the bank’s error.
