Recipient Las Piñas Exposes Her Vaccine Shot Was Allegedly Underdosed
Another incident of improper vaccination recorded in Las Piñas after a recipient complained that his first COVID-19 vaccine shot is underdosed.
As in Makati and Mandaluyong, the local administration of Las Piñas is now investigating another example of inappropriate vaccination. A Las Piñas resident recorded herself getting vaccinated and discovered that the vaccine she was given was not the correct amount.
According to her, the nurse’s syringe plunge was almost empty when the needle was placed into his arm, indicating that the syringe was nearly empty when the needle was pushed into his arm. Her first dosage of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, she claims, was underdosed.

The city health office’s Dr. Juliana Gonzales admitted that the health worker did not give the resident the proper dosage. Gonzales also suspected that the recipient was not given a vaccination.
“Nag-admit naman po kasi ang nurse na he failed to check first kung ano ‘yong dosage. That’s why hindi niya masabi na kung mayroon o wala,” the doctor added.
According to Gonzales, health professionals are exhausted by the number of immunizations they must administer each day, thus human error is unavoidable. Gonzales stated that this was not done on purpose and promised that it would not happen again.
Las Piñas’ local authority has also stated that they are launching an inquiry and that the residents would be immunized with the Pfizer vaccine again within three weeks. The event is also being investigated by the Department of Health (DOH).
“We were sent a copy of the show-cause order and also a notice to the health care worker about the investigation. So aantayin po natin ‘yong resulta ng kanilang pag-uusap,” said Health Spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire.
The city of Las Piñas has also responded to the Department of Health’s mandate to have overseers and other procedures in place at vaccination locations to ensure that proper and quality immunizations are given. Every day, up to 9,000 people are vaccinated throughout the city.
