Two of those killed were wearing police uniforms, according to the article. The suspects allegedly hijacked a 10-wheeler wing van bringing vegetables to the Benguet Agri Pinoy Trading Station in La Trinidad.
They did not injure the truck driver, who had reported the hijacking to the police. Police set up a dragnet operation after getting information from the driver and noticed the vehicle with an escorted SUV.

Aside from the weaponry, the suspects were discovered in possession of two police identification cards and a National Bureau of Investigation identification card. Investigators will determine whether the IDs are genuine, as well as the true identities of individuals who were killed.
