Female Human Trafficking Victims Rescued while 2 Alleged Bugaws Arrested in Tacloban
Authorities rescued nine (9) female human trafficking victims and arrested two (2) alleged “bugaws” or human traffickers in Tacloban.
After being captured offering female services, two people were charged in Tacloban City. Simultaneous entrapment and rescue operations here resulted in the rescue of nine female human trafficking victims.

Jason Pambojan, alias “Kara,” 24, a standup comedian and hairdresser, and Khrisha Alvarez, 25, both from this city, were named as suspects. According to the article, they were accused in person at the City Prosecutor’s Office for violating Section 6 of Republic Act 10364 or qualified trafficking.
At around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, victims from the Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking were rescued by joint personnel from the Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking.
According to the investigation, victims were utilized to give sexual services on social networking sites in exchange for money. Their photographs are displayed on a website with price tags, as if they were commodities for sale.
During an entrapment operation in the city, the suspects and victims were apprehended by the authorities. Authorities recovered evidence during the arrest, including condoms and boodle money.
