A writer close to Noynoy Aquino shared these details about his health condition
Noynoy Aquino Health Condition – Camille Elemia, a writer of social media news site Rappler, who was close to the former President, revealed some of the details about his health status.
On June 24, Filipinos are saddened by the passing away of one of the former Presidents of the Philippines. He was 61 years old. Several prominent people in the country and those who are close to PNoy expressed their condolences to the Aquino family and shared wonderful words about the former Chief Executive.
One of the people close to him was Elemia who shared that on May 14, Aquino sent a message to her stating how his health was deteriorating: “Camille, I’m not in good shape. Naglalabasan (They are discovering) other problems. Now, I have loss of appetite and breathing difficulties.”
The last message that the writer received from the former president was on June 15. Elemia said that when her father was diagnosed with colon cancer PNoy was “never short on words of encouragement”. Since the writer was checking up on him, his message days before his death was, “Even your Dad would be hard-pressed to give nearly daily updates to you.”
Elemia said that Noynoy Aquino’s health problems started to surface in November 2019. Before Christmas last year, he revealed to her that he “had undergo dialysis due to diabetes, a risky heart surgery (which happened in May), and a possible kidney transplant.”
Despite having these health conditions, the writer said that they were two non-negotiable things for the former president and they are “cigarettes and Coke Classic”. She said that PNoy would still smoke one or two cigarettes. The former president admitted that the first 24 hours were the hardest.
Elemia also shared that the last phone call that she had with Noynoy Aquino was in December last year and after that, their conversations were just through text messages.
