“Leaves” Korean Version of Ben&Ben Elicits Reaction from Netizens
“LEAVES” KOREAN VERSION – Filipino folk band Ben&Ben released another version of their 2017 hit song, Leaves.
Ben&Ben is one of the most popular bands in the Philippines now. In fact, the said Filipino folk band also created a name abroad most especially in South Korea. Their main vocalists are twin brothers Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin Guico.
The Guico twin brothers also play guitars aside from singing. Before they hooked the spotlight, they took a big risk in using their savings to pursue their music career. Many of their songs hooked attention including Tinatangi which bagged Best Music Video award at the PhilPop Music Festival 2016.
On the lead guitar, Ben&Ben has Poch Barretto who also does the backing vocals. Agnes Reoma plays bass, Jam Villanueva on drums, and Patricia Lasaten on keyboards. Toni Muñoz and Andrew de Pano on percussion and backing vocals and Keifer Cabugao on violin and vocals.
Ben&Ben has several hit songs including Leaves, Maybe the Night, Lifetime, Ride Home, and Di Ka Sayang. Among their popular songs that crossed billboards and charts, Leaves is on top. It is a 2017 hit song of the band.
Many South Koreans love Leaves and it even crossed search charts such as Melon, South Korea’s biggest music streaming platform. This song talks about love and forgiveness.
Leaves highlight the message of forgiveness stressing that “you never really love someone until you learn to forgive”. It also brings a message of hope that “all will be alright in time”.
Previously, Ben&Ben collaborated with South Korean star Young K for a version of Leaves. Their version hooked a lot of admirations. Recently, the band did another version of their 2017 hit song – the “Leaves” Korean version.
