Pokwang is now of the former Kapamilya stars
Former Kapamilya comedienne Pokwang speaks about being a Kapuso now after she officially signed a new contract with GMA Artist Center.
Last year, speculations surfaced that Pokie will transfer to GMA Network after several years of being under the management of ABS-CBN. This came after her Eat Bulaga guesting for its Bawal Judgmental segment.
Back in July 2020, the comedienne already confirmed that she asked permission to leave ABS-CBN. She said that she already talked to management regarding this back in 2019, even before the pandemic happened. Pokwang also stressed that she was not allowed yet to leave back then.
Then, she did a morning talk show on TV5 titled Chika Besh! with Pauleen Luna and Ria Atayde. That show lasted for almost five months.
After that stint in the Kapatid network, rumors circulated that Pokwang is one of the former Kapamilya stars who is set to transfer to GMA-7.
On June 18, the Kapuso network has officially announced that the comedienne has signed a contract with GMA Artist Center.
“Actress, host, and comedienne #Pokwang is officially a Kapuso as she signs with GMA Artist Center. Welcome and congratulations,” the Twitter post of GMA Artist Center stated.
Pokwang retweeted with a caption expressing how grateful she is for her new showbiz endeavor. She also thanked her supporters.
“This is it… thank you po @ArtistCenter@gmanetwork papa God, at sa inyong lahat salamat po sa pagkakataong muling maihatid at maibahagi ko ang aking talento sa inyong lahat na tunay na nagmamahal at sumosuporta,” the former Kapamilya star said.
Meanwhile, Beauty Gonzalez, who also came from ABS-CBN has also signed a contract with GMA and she is set to do a new teleserye as a Kapuso.
