New Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez clarified this common misconception about her and other “artistas”.
Being a celebrity inevitably means being in a glamorous world. Ordinary people, the viewers, the audience commonly thought that being a star in the entertainment industry means having a life that is full of glitz and glamor.
On the other hand, Janine stressed in a recent interview on ABS-CBN’s morning talk show Magandang Buhay that is not the case always.
She said, despite coming from a popular showbiz clan, she grew up having a simple life. “Akala kasi nila minsan, di ba, ‘pag artista automatic parang mayaman, di mo ma-reach, eh hindi naman ganun ang family ko,” Janine Gutierrez said.
She said that this is one of the impressions that many people have when it comes to the lives of celebrities. The actress said that “artistas” also belong to the working class and it does not mean that celebrities are all wealthy.
One proof of her simple life was having the chance to play traditional Pinoy games such as “piko” and “agawan base”. This portion of the interview received admiration from many netizens. They said that aside from being beautiful, Janine Gutierrez is also down to earth and very humble.
