McDonald’s Stores in Indonesia Shut Down Due to Massive Orders of BTS Meal

The McDonald’s stores in Indonesia decide to close establishments and shut down operations due to the massive orders of BTS meal.

A Twitter page “JAKARTA KERAS” has shared the video footage of numerous delivery riders queuing at a McDonald’s store in Indonesia. The video footage immediately spread like a wildfire online.

A lot of people trooped to numerous McDonald’s stores in Indonesia after the launch of “BTS Meal” last June 9, 2021. The meal brewed excitement among fans not in various countries all around the world.

In the video, it can be seen delivery riders ordering BTS meal have violated the health protocols such as not wearing of face mask and social distancing. The riders seem to be in chaos while waiting for the orders of the customers.

Jakarta post reported that some local officials have decided to shut down at least 13 outlets of McDonald’s for fear of spreading the coronavirus disease due to the massive demand of BTS meal.

BTS meal will be available in almost 50 countries worldwide and set to arrive in the Philippines on June 18, 2021. The meal contains fries, drink and 10-piece Chicken McNuggets with Sweet Chili and Cajun sauces.

“With the Philippines being one of the countries with the biggest BTS fanbase, we are anticipating much excitement and support when we launch the BTS Meal on June 18. The BTS Meal will be available across all channels (McDelivery, Drive-Thru, Take-Out, Dine-In) to provide customers more options for ordering the meal,” McDonald’s PH corporate communications head Adi Hernandez said.
