Raymund Marasigan was asked about the recent viral statement of Ely Buendia
Former Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia recently mentioned in a podcast that he and his former bandmates were never friends and this received a reaction from one of the band members Raymund Marasigan.
The 90s band was originally composed of Ely, Raymund, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala. No one can refute that their band has become a legend and icon of Pinoy rock.
However, Ely decided to leave the group after 13 years of playing music together. In a recent podcast, the former E-heads frontman corrected the misconception of many fans that the song Minsan was about his friendship with his bandmates.
He stated that they were never close and they were never friends. This received hate comments from the fans of the 90s band. However, Ely Buendia stressed that he is just being honest and that he was just answered what was asked during the podcast.
In line with this, Raymund Marasigan recently uploaded a video on his YouTube channel as he was asked to react to the said statement of their former frontman.
Raymund stressed that it is not a secret that they are not close to each other but he became closer to Buddy after they disbanded. He added that he considers everyone in the band as a friend but also admits the fact that they are not close with each other in the sense that they would text each other despite having the contact numbers.
“We would hang out with other friends sa dorm, di ba? But we would meet and play and jam. You don’t need to talk when you’re jamming, parang, meron din naman connection ‘yun,” he said.
Raymund also shared that he and Ely would have “banggaan” inside the studio but it was not “fighting”. It is because of their clashing creative ideas. “I think it’s part of the chemistry,” he added.
