A drug suspect who is a construction worker reportedly passed away under the custody of Caloocan City Police.
Last May 18, 2021, a construction worker has been arrested by the Caloocan City Police due to possession of illegal drugs. The suspect’s father visited his son at the jail the day after he was arrested.
On May 21 (Friday), the father revisited the drug suspect at the Caloocan Police Station and found out that he was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the construction employee died before the arrival of his dad at the hospital.
The victim’s death certificate states that the latter passed away due to heart attack and electrolyte imbalance but his family doesn’t believe the report. The doctor also said that the victim identified as Mateo suffered torture after seeing a black eye and hematoma on his body.
“May mga damage sa katawan ang anak ko. May dumagan sa dibdib at saka ang daming bugbog sa likod, ‘yun ang sabi ng doktor, at saka may black eye dito,” Mateo’s father explained.
However, the Caloocan Police denied the allegations and claimed that the construction worker is a COVID-19 suspect. The cops also declined foul play on the incident.
