A week after that overdue pageant event because of the pandemic, Rabiya shared this post on her Instagram account. She said that who who may be asking how she is now, should not worry.

I’m enjoying my mini vacay here in the US. Just few more days and I’ll be working again,” the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 said. Her post featured a photo of her wearing the orange gown created by globally-renowned Pinoy designer Furne Amato.

Rabiya Mateo shared that the said gown was her gift to Iloilo as the bottom part of it showcased the Dinagyang festival which is being celebrated in her hometown every January.

“I’ve been trying to imagine myself walk in this gown if ever I enter the top 10,” the beauty queen said. Although what she imagined did not come into reality, Rabiya said that she is still thankful.

It was heartbreaking at first but I realize every girl in the competition also made sacrifices and it’s all about destiny. That night wasn’t meant for me,” she said.
