Judy Ann Santos answered this question about the Philippine remake of ‘Doctor Foster’
Award-winning drama actress Judy Ann Santos gets asked if the Philippine adaptation of BBC’s Doctor Foster was offered to her first before the role was given to Jodi Sta. Maria.
When ABS-CBN announced that it will be doing a remake of the British drama that was also done by South Korea titled The World Of The Married Couple, the name of Juday topped the choices of netizens who they think fit to play the lead female character.
Rumors surfaced that the project was offered to the wife of TV host Ryan Agoncillo and speculations circulated that she turned it down.
However, it was recently announced that the lead female role was given to Jodi and Zanjoe Marudo will play the lead male character while Sue Ramirez plays the “other woman” character. The Philippine version is titled The Broken Marriage Vow.
Based on the article in Bandera, during a recent interview, Judy Ann Santos was asked if the lead female role was really offered to her first. The actress thinks she does not need to answer the question or to speak about the said project.
“I don’t know if I have to answer that question, kasi I don’t want to be unfair kay Jodi,” the drama superstar said. She also said that she is just waiting for the management to speak about this.
On the other hand, Juday expressed happiness for Jodi for having the opportunity to be in this project as it is a good material. “Ako din naman, if ever, hindi ko rin naman din siya magagawa, kasi takot nga ako lumabas, more than anything,” she added.
