He went on to say that the victim had asked his brother for assistance and that his brother had immediately gone to the police station. During the initial investigation, one of the victims applied for a job as a make-up artist in Pasay City, but something unexpected occurred when their application was being processed.
“Ni-recruit nila ‘yung isang victim natin, nag-apply kasi ng trabaho, kaso ‘yung trabaho na in-apply-an niya iba pala, ang pinalabas ng mga suspek, dadalhin kasi ipapa-swab test, eh ‘yun pala dinala hanggang Angeles which is hindi naman daw ‘yun ang napagkasunduan, tapos ikinulong na sila, tapos ‘yung isa may pasa,” Sanoy added.
A 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, both Chinese nationals, were the victims. Three other Chinese nationals were detained when they arrived at the hotel. The suspects will be charged with Serious Illegal Detention and violating Republic Act 10364, also known as the 2012 Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.
