Actress Solenn Heussaff shares sentiments suffering from “mommy thumb”.
SOLENN HEUSSAFF – Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff opens up on her Instagram about her struggles with De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis.
Recently, with an ongoing painful condition, famous actress and painter Solenn Heussaff opened up about her struggles and sentiments having a De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis. This condition is affecting the tendons on the thumb side of your wrist which makes it hard for someone who has it to turn wrist, grasp objects, or even make a fist.
And the actress just shared on social media how having this causes some troubles in her making her tasks. De Quervain’s tenosynovitis is otherwise known as mommy thumb and she’s been suffering from it for months already. She shared, “Being forced to use my left hand during these times has made me realize how unfriendly everyday things are to left handed people…”
She added that she has already tried solutions like hand exercises, dry needling, and thumb splint but to no avail. This condition made her skip her regular exercise and expressed in disbelief that she would be missing doing her push-ups and burpees.
The exact cause of this condition is still unknown and any repetitive hand or wrist movements worsen it. Risk factors of this included age being between 30 and 50, gender as this is most common in women, pregnancy, baby care, and a job that requires repetitive hand and wrist motions.
Meanwhile, on Mother’s Day, Solenn received the best present she ever had from her husband and daughter. Her husband, Nico Bolzico, made a video of her containing the raw ones she has with her daughter. Along with those clips are the reasons why she the “best mama in the world”.
