Candy Pangilinan saw the bright side of her failed marriage
Actress Candy Pangilinan said that her failed marriage is actually a blessing for her and here is the reason why she has this perception.
Candy had an emotional talk with actress-host Toni Gonzaga in her recent Toni Talks vlog. The older actress shared her struggles while she was handling the relationship problems that she had with her former partner.
With the perception that their marriage will be saved by a child, Candy continued to ignore the cheating that her husband was doing even before they tied the knot.
“Before I gave birth, nandiyan pa naman siya pero sinasabi niya sa akin na iiwanan niya ako,” Candy recalled. Her husband indeed stayed true to his words. He left a month after the actress gave birth to their son.
Candy Pangilinan said that she wanted to forgive her husband and tried to save their marriage because for her, what she has been through was just challenges.
“Feeling mo kontrolado mo. ‘Hindi, kaya ko ito. Kaya ko ito.’ Para siyang laruan na hindi ko makuha,” she said. On the other hand, her failed relationship made her realize the more important things in her life.
She was more focused on her son Quentin who has autism. The failed marriage that she had actually helped her understand more the situation she had with her child.
“Everything was a blessing. ‘Yung paghiwalay sa ‘kin, parang hinanda ako ni Lord. Binago niya ‘yung pagkatao ko, ‘yung mindset ko, ‘yung perception ko about things para handa ako for Quentin,” the actress explained.
Despite having the difficulties of being a single parent, Candy Pangilinan still finds joy in her situation as she believes that Quentin is her “ticket to heaven.”
As a mother to her child, Candy also learned to be patient, tolerant and being thankful for even simple things she has in her life.
