Public School Teacher Arrested During Buy-Bust Operation
DAVAO CITY – A public school teacher has been arrested during a buy-bust operation in Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.
The Philippine government has been implementing stricter rules and regulations to reduce the rate of criminality in the country. The authorities are strictly enforcing the policy amid the coronavirus pandemic.
However, crimes are still happening and illegal activities continue to happen without the knowledge of the police force. The proliferation of illegal drugs continues amid the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted a drug buy-bust operation at Purok 2, Poblacion in Nabunturan, Davao de Oro last Saturday evening (May 1, 2021). They have arrested a public school teacher during the operation.
The authorities recovered a pack of suspected illegal drug from the 40-year-old teacher worth P10, 000. Five other visitors have been also arrested at the drug den and five packs of suspected drugs worth P165, 000 and drug paraphernalia have been recovered by the authorities.
PDEA reported that the suspect is maintainer and protector of a drug den. The culprit is also considered as fourth in the list of drug suspects in Davao de Oro.
The suspects would face charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
