Here’s what a lawyer said about the legal matter surrounding the incident at the community pantry of Angel Locsin
Actress Angel Locsin organized a community pantry where a senior citizen died and speculations that she can be held responsible for what happened circulated.
Following the unexpected incident in a supposed celebration for her 36th birthday, Angel apologized. On the other hand, this did not pacify the negative comments that many people threw at her, just like what Arnell Ignacio said In his recent video.
Felicito Valmocina, the Barangay Captain of Holy Spirit, Quezon City where Angel put up her community pantry, blamed her for what happened.
The village official also said that the camp of the actress just asked two tanods to assist them and with this, he expected that it was just a small event. He also blamed Angel for posting about this on her social media accounts with millions of followers and so even those who are not from their barangay went there.
Valmocina expressed that they will file complaints against the actress if it is needed. “Titingnan naming kung ano yung mga nalabag niya (Angel Locsin), ano yung mga dapat naming gawin. Kung kinakailangang magdemanda, edi magdemanda,” he said.
Based on the report in News 5, Atty. Mel Sta. Maria, the Dean of Far Eastern University Institute of Law answered if Angel has a responsibility when it comes to the death of Rolando Dela Cruz who was waiting in the queue from 3 a.m. that day.
“In may opinion, no. She is not liable. You cannot just justify filing a case because you felt bad. That’s not the basis of filing a case. You file a case because somebody transgressed the law and when you talk about the law, you look at the wordings of the law. It is textual,” the lawyer said.
