In the TV5 show Sing Galing, the iconic singer-songwriter shared that the story behind his song is about gay love. A comedian friend of him before has asked him to write a song about a male person who fell in love with his fellow.
The first stanza of his song says:
Kulang man ang ‘yong pagtingin
The entire message of the song talks about a love that doesn’t ask anything for return. It is about unrequited love or one-sided love – a love that is not reciprocated by your beloved.
