3 Hold-uppers Nabbed in Pasig City Using Toy Gun Threaten Their Victims

Pasig City police arrested three (3) hold-uppers who allegedly used a toy gun to taunt and rob their victims in Pasig and nearby areas.

Three men were arrested and charged in connection with a series of robberies in Pasig and other cities. According to the investigation, the suspects’ arms were discovered to be toy guns.

Three armed men were caught on camera robbing a convenience store in the city and clearing the money from the box. Pasig Police and the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) located the group’s safe house in Taytay, Rizal, a few days later.

Manuel Balverde and Neil Hernandez were named as the suspects, while Christian Salcedo, their accomplice, was arrested first. The suspects were wanted in connection with a carnapping and a robbery in Pasig.

According to Pasig City Chief of Police, Police Colonel Moises Villaceran, the group allegedly targets people who serve as call center agents. Furthermore, the perpetrators preyed on students.

“Maya”, one of their victims, said she was shaking and in tears after being victimized. “Noong nag-aagawan na po kami sa cellphone ko, sinakal po ako ng lalaki na nasa likod ko po. ‘Yung nasa unahan ko hinila niya po ‘yung bag ko. Nagkapasa po ako. Sobrang takot na takot po ako, hindi po ako nakatulog noong araw po na iyon,” 

The perpetrators have yet to make a comment. Mostly identical to the .9mm beret, and according to the survivor, was the gun that was used against her when she was victimized.
