Former Teacher Allegedly Harasses Male Student Using His Authority Arrested
The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) arrested a former teacher after he allegedly harasses his male student.
After hiding for over 4 years for allegedly harassing a male student in 2017, the PNP-AKG arrested the former teacher in Quezon City on Sunday during the intelligence operations conducted.
The accused has been named as Ramil Gara, according to the PNP-AKG released statement. He is accused of abusing his power and moral ascendancy over his student by threatening to fail him if he refused to submit to his intimate pleadings.

Gara was a Grade 12 teacher in a Caloocan City school when he allegedly harassed the 18-year-old student in 2017, according to police. The victim’s family filed a lawsuit, but Gara is accused of fleeing the authorities for four years.
To apprehend Gara, the PNP-AKG team conducted intelligence operations. The defendant is currently being held at the PNP-AKG detention center for further investigation.
Meanwhile, police also arrested a teacher who has been hiding for over 2 years for allegedly abusing and harassing his minor male student in 2018. After two years of hiding, the 28-year-old teacher was found and arrested for allegedly abusing his minor male students.
Apostol faces 13 counts of r*pe and 7 counts of acts of lasciviousness. According to the grievances of the parents of the victims, the suspect allegedly summoned the students to his house to teach and give high marks.
