Just recently, he gave the little child a huge remote-controlled car. As much as people are aware, Elias is her son with John Lloyd Cruz.

The actor once expressed that he fully understands the fact that Ellen prioritizes her son over anything else including their relationship because he himself as a parent is aware of this kind of this situation. Derek has a son from a previous relationship named Austin. And in terms of marrying the actress, he got his son’s approval and even said this, “My son told me he thinks it would be really cool if he had a younger brother. He really adores Ellen. He thinks she’s cool. He said, ‘I want you to be happy’.”
