ABS-CBN superstar Vice Ganda speaks about the reasons why he created a YouTube channel.
VICE GANDA – “Its Showtime” host Vice Ganda has this revelation on why he decided to create a channel on YouTube which now has over 5 million subscribers.
With more than 5 million subscribers now is the YouTube channel of Vice Ganda, an in-demand host, and superstar from the Kapamilya network. He launched his channel called the Vice Ganda Network last July and recently, just in time of his birthday, he achieved the 5 million subs.
He expressed that he is happy in every milestone his channel reaches and it has always been a bigger celebration for him became such a milestone often happens to him on special dates. One of the reasons why he created this is because he wanted to see how far he can still go when it comes to reaching his audience and to see if there’s still interested in him. Right after they lost a franchise, these things became uncertain to him because he doesn’t have any rating to see as his basis.
“So since wala ng ganun hindi ko na alam kung gaano karaming tao ang interesado pa sa akin. Or kung gaano pa kalawak ko na-se-serve yung purpose ko,” he said during the Kabog Pasabog with Saridon media launch held last April 12. When ABS-CBN lost its franchise, it was also the time that vlogging became a trend which made him decide to push his channel and create his own content. The management has also told him that it is his obligation to still reach out to his audience and to see how big his followings now is something that made him happy.
“So kailangan mo siyang pasukin so pinasok ko yung YouTube. Tapos nung lumalaki yung following nakakatuwa kasi nga dun ko na-ri-realize na ay marami pa ring may interes sa akin,” he shared. Aside from that, he also admitted that apart from serving his purpose which is to entertain, he is also after the earnings of his channel.
He shared, “Aside from that, I don’t want to be a hypocrite, mas maraming subscriptions, mas kikita yung channel ko di ba? Kahit may ipon naman ako kailangan ko kumita kasi mauubos yung ipon ko. Ayoko na bumalik sa paghihirap hello nanggaling na ako dun. At nagbabad na ako dun ng bongga.”
The superstar also expressed his gratitude to all his supporters for letting him entertain them and also giving him the chance to earn in another way.
