However, when the cops tried to apprehend them, they reportedly opened fire. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), the Southern Police District (SPD), and the Las Pias City Police all worked together with the PNP Drug Enforcement Group.

“Dineclare nila na buy-bust. Nang ni-declare na nila, nataranta mga suspek, bumunot at nakipagbarilan sa pulis. So alam mo naman pag mga alanganing lugar, alerto na rin mga pulis natin,” said Sinas.

At the crime scene, two .45 caliber weapons were discovered. Inside the suspects’ car, authorities discovered three boxes containing 30 kilos of alleged illegal drugs in Chinese tea bags.

It is estimated to be worth more than P210 million when combined with the 1 kilo sold. The PNP is also looking at whether the drugs are old or new.

It is believed to have originated in Pampanga and will be sold in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon, according to authorities. The slain suspects were dubbed “new players” by Sinas because they were not on any police watchlists.
