Toni Gonzaga shared her perspective when it comes to her showbiz career
Actress-host Toni Gonzaga admitted that when she was younger she was afraid of the possibility that she will become a “has-been” celebrity but this has changed.
Toni is one of the most successful stars in her generation. She has done several successful TV and movie projects and she is also considered as a recording artist. These are aside from her various endorsements.
With her success in the entertainment industry, she never forgets her humble beginning. In a recent interview, Toni recalled the time when she was just starting in showbiz and it was a challenging journey for her.
The actress-host shared that during her younger years in showbiz, she has been entertaining the fear of losing her popularity, based on the article in Bandera.
She even admitted that there is still a feeling that she would feel insecure. One of those points was when she tried to turn down her Teddie Salazar role in the movie Four Sisters And A Wedding.
“When I was younger, (takot ako malaos), oo. Laging ‘yun ang panakot sa ‘yo kapag ayaw mo tumanggap ng trabaho or kapag tatanggi ka sa gig. Laging iyan ang panakot sa ‘yo when you’re younger. As you grow old, you choose the people you will listen to. Pinili ko na. Mapapagod ka, eh,” Toni Gonzaga said.
However, she has let go of that fear as she matured. “Hay naku malalaos ka.’ Bigla ka na lang magsasalita sa sarili mo, ‘Eh ‘di malalaos talaga.’ Inevitable naman iyan, eh,” the I Feel U host said.
For Toni, there is a reasonable factor why a star will no longer shine bright as it was before. On the other hand, that a celebrity should be comfortable with that possibility and accept it. “‘Yung pagiging laos is a matter of how you look at it,” the actress-host added.
