Sara Duterte speaks about her recent trip to Singapore
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte refused to disclose the purpose why she flew to Singapore on Tuesday but has confirmed this trip.
The presidential daughter quietly flew out of the country on April 6 from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. Reportedly, she was with one of her children but the airport source was not able to identity who is among her three children was with her.
Amid the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and nearby cities, the flight took place. Airport authorities stated that outbound travels are allowed for Filipinos despite this quarantine status.
In a previous report, the information officer of the lady mayor was asked about the purpose of her trip to Singapore. However, the official had no idea about the trip of the presidential daughter.
A recent report in Inquirer stated that Mayor Sara Duterte confirmed that she indeed flew to Singapore last Tuesday. She said that she acquired a travel authority from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
“Yes. I am on leave and I have a travel authority from DILG,” the Davao City Mayor said. Last year, she also took a medical leave for seven days from September 28 to October 5.
Meanwhile, last month, Mayor Sara said in her speech during the Brunei Darussalam Indonesia Malaysia Philippines-East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA)-Japan Investment Seminar that she inviting Japanese investors to explore Davao City and the whole Mindanao.
“We would like to invite you to experience the things that we can offer and to work with us towards progress and development,” the presidential daughter said during the said event.
UPDATE:
In a statement released by Mayor Sara hours after this article was published, she said that she flew to Singapore for “personal health management”. She also said that she will follow the protocols after this trip.
