SK Chairman in Isabela Nabbed in Buy-Bust Operation Over Selling Illegal Drug
Police arrested a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman during a buy-bust operation in Isabela for allegedly selling an illegal drug plant called “Maryjane.”
A chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in Cabatuan, Isabela was arrested in a buy-bust operation. The detainee was identified as Joren Palomeno, 24, SK chairman of Barangay Centro, based on the report of Bombo Radyo Cauayan.
According to Cabatuan Police, they allegedly caught the suspect selling a sachet containing illegal drugs called “maryjane” to the police who pretended to be a poseur-buyer in exchange for P500.

When the suspect was searched, the authorities allegedly found two sachets of illegal drugs. Aside from the “Maryjane,” police also confiscated the cellphone he used in the transaction.
The suspect, who is allegedly on the list of high-value targets, is being monitored, according to police. The suspect has been charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Meanwhile, SK chairmen in Montalba, Rizal received motorcycles from the local government for their new project. However, the distribution earned criticisms from the online community as the local government allegedly used the public funds to finance the motorcycle project.
As a result, Mayor Dennis Hernandez clarified the allegations and denied that the town funds was used to buy the motorcycles. He said that it was donated by a group of riders in their town and stressed that the local government will never allocate funds for the said project especially now during the pandemic.
