Mentally-Ill Man Shot to Death by Policeman After He Runs Amok in Victorias City
A policeman shot a mentally-ill man to death after he runs amok and tried to hack the officer who responded to stop him in Victorias City.
A 66-years-old man was killed after he runs amok and tried to hack anything on his sight in Victorias City, Negros Occidental. According to the report of Radyo Bandera Bacolod, the man’s “nervous breakdown” attacks resulted him running amok.
Video footage taken by Victoria City Police of the incident in Victoria City was uploaded on social media. Police Master Sgt. Valentin Cerdeña said the man went raging while he was mentally ill.

Authorities tried to calm the suspect down, but the man chased a policeman with bolo causing him to roll on the road, before forcing him to shoot the man. Even though the man was accosted, he continued to chase the police so some people in the area helped to stop him.
The policeman sustained a wound to the arm while the raging man died due to a bullet wound to the body. The mentally-ill man earned three gunshot wounds located in his chest, leg.
Cerdeña, on the other hand, was disarmed as an SOP if a police officer was caught, so as not to influence the ongoing investigation. He was also placed in restricted custody.
