Malabon Government to Probe Isolation Facility for Allegedly Not Observing Protocols
The local government of Malabon orders probe against the isolation facility after a patient complains of not observing health protocols.
The order stemmed after a resident who is positive with the COVID-19 was brought to Malabon National High School on March 17. JC Pacala, the patient, exposed the alleged violations of the said isolation facility.
“Kada kwarto merong 12 na tao. Tinanong ko doon sa bantay kung puwede ba akong mag home quarantine na lang pero hindi daw po puwede,” Pacala said.
He added that people with symptoms stay there with them. There were a lot of people and there was no social distancing, there were no plastic dividers like the one you see on TV, and there was also no fan, he said.

Pacala was then immediately brought to another quarantine facility in Batangas. However, his sibling and 59-year-old mother were brought to the high school after testing positive for the illness, which makes him anxious about them.
He appealed to the contact tracer if her mother could undergo home quarantine as she has other illnesses such as tuberculosis. However, it is said that they are not allowed to undergo home quarantine.
Pacala air dismay to the personnel in charge of the isolation facility as they mixed newly brought patients who were also positive with the virus despite the room already reaches the maximum capacity of patients.
“Napakarami nung nagtitiis at naghihintay na lang sa facility na hindi maayos. And feeling ko minsan hindi na nga humane ‘yung pag trato doon sa facility na ‘yun,” he said.
Meanwhile, Malabon public information officer Bong Padua said there are separate facilities at the Malabon Hospital for those with comorbidities. However, Padua said requests for home quarantine were not easily granted because of the risk it posed.
