Pia Wurtzbach has these wonderful words for the Women’s Month celebration
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shared her views on comparing women against each other, in line with the celebration of International Women’s Month.
Pia once again garnered the admiration of the online community when it comes to her words of wisdom. She was the guest of TV host Bianca Gonzalez for her recent Paano Ba ‘To? vlog. The beauty queen was asked to give her advice on a netizen’s problem regarding being compared to others.
The netizen wanted to know how to handle comparisons better, as well as her insecurities, as she would feel pressured at times and this affected her self-esteem. She also admitted that “inggit” would hit her sometimes although she does not like it to happen.
Pia Wurtzbach validated the feeling of the netizen. “This feeling is completely normal,” she said and added that this does not make a person bad.
She admitted that she has been through this situation a lot wherein she would question why she did not achieve what others have achieved. The Miss Universe 2015 recalled the time when she was rejected when she auditioned for commercial and showbiz stints.
As it is also known to many, Pia stressed that she joined Binibining Pilipinas three times before she was hailed as the representative of the Philippines for the Miss Universe pageant.
“It’s not so much of ‘why her?’ It’s more like ‘why not me?’,” she shared. Pia said that having the latter question does not mean that one feels angry and would wish ill for other people. For her, questioning one’s self, “may kulang ba sa akin?” would open self-awareness that would lead to improvement.
“Maybe there’s something that’s need to be worked on with yourself,” Pia Wurtzbach said. She also believes that there is space for everyone and that one should just wait for the right time.
