Pia Wurtzbach went through a tough breakup
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shared her crazy breakup story in the recent edition of Between Us Queens as she and fellow beauty queens and co-hosts Bianca Guidotti and Carla Lizardo talked about this topic.
Pia said that before joining the world of pageantry, she was a different person. Now, her “confidently beautiful with a heart” answer during the Miss Universe Q & A, has become the mantra of many women. Indeed that statement empowered a lot of people.
However, before the chapter that led to her crown, Pia said that she had no voice or choice of her own and that was because of her past boyfriend, based on the article in ABS-CBN.
“Under ako sa lalaki. Parang kung anong sasabihin niya, ‘yun ‘yung masusunod. Hindi ako lalaban, kahit alam kong mali… I didn’t really have a voice. So I was that kind of girl, I was very submissive,” Pia Wurtzbach said.
Being overly submissive, she had to quit her job and gave up her own place. The beauty queen also said that she was not allowed to hang out with her female friends who her ex-boyfriend disliked.
Then, the moment came when she realized that the relationship was doing no good to her. It was her sister Sarah Wurtzbach who helped her realize the situation as so she should get out from it.
“I gave it everything, all of my time, my efforts, my heart, and then napagod ako. One day, I just woke up and then I left,” Pia shared.
“At that time, I was staying with him. I did have my own place but that was one of the things I gave up. So I had to ask a friend if I could sleep over muna for a few weeks until I find my way kasi wala akong pupuntahan. I just remember packing whatever I could, getting into my friend’s car, and just having P100 in my wallet. Wala akong pera, wala akong trabaho, as in wala lahat,” Pia Wurtzbach shared.
The Miss Universe 2015 stressed that women should also learn to take care of themselves despite how one would cope up with a breakup.
