Former Car Owner After Learned Name Involved in PNP-PDEA Shootout

FORMER CAR OWNER – Man was shocked after his name was involved in the misencounter between Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

A man was shocked and worried when his name was implicated in the alleged misencounter between the PNP operatives and PDEA agents on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City last month.

In an interview with Teleradyo on Monday, Elbert Estores, 36, was shocked when he received a subpoena from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding a white car used by PDEA agents in the encounter occur in a parking lot of a fast-food chain.

Estores insisted that he handed over the white Honda City to the bank in 2013 after he had financial problems and could no longer afford it. According to him, he and his mother was worried about the subpoena delivered.

“Nakaka-stress. ‘Yong mother ko nagulat [at] na-worried po siya. Sa 7 years, nasa sa’kin parin nakapangalan,” he.

Based on the report, he immediately went to the bank and asked for an explanation. He presented to the NBI some documents that would prove that the vehicle is not on his ownership for a long time.

“Paano ho kung magamit ‘yong sasakyan sa mga kriminal o terorista. Pangalan ko kasi,” he stressed.

According to Estores, the NBI will also ask the bank why ownership of the vehicle has not been transferred. Last week, Quezon City police operatives summoned operatives who encountered PDEA suspects who appeared before the NBI.
