Courier Riders Air Dismay to Agent Involved in QC Shootout for Using Courier Uniform
Group of courier riders air dismay to agent who disguise using uniform of a courier company during the shootout in Commonwealth avenue.
On Facebook, netizens who were working as a courier and delivery rider express their disappointments towards an agent of allegedly Quezon City Police District (QCPD) who wears a uniform of courier company as a disguise during the shootout.
Recently, GMA’s 24 Oras shares a new CCTV footage during the buy-bust shootout in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City between QCPD operatives and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents.
CCTV footage shows PDEA agents introducing a uniformed policeman. There is also a PDEA agent showing off the badge. Despite this, the police continued to fire at them.
Another video shows a man carrying a courier bag of a courier service company shooting. The man left shortly after and it is now being investigated if he is a personnel of the Quezon City Police District.
After an hour-long firefight, two policemen, a PDEA agent, and a PDEA informant were killed. In the incident, both QCPD and PDEA asserted that their anti-drug operations were legitimate.
Meanwhile, courier and delivery riders air dismay as the agent use their uniform as a disguise which according to them, can affect their job. Rider netizens stressed that using their uniform in this kind of incident could lead to misinterpretation.
