Here is how the opportunity to be the singer of Gabay reached KZ Tandingan

Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan revealed how she got the stint as the singer behind the first-ever Disney song in Filipino titled Gabay for the animated film Raya.

In her singing career, KZ has already reached remarkable milestones. From winning the first X Factor Philippines back in 2012, her music continues to soar not just in her home country.

The Filipino singer also received international recognition, especially when she joined the Singer in 2018 in China.

Just recently, KZ added a new feather in her cap as she had the chance to sing an inspiring song as one of the official soundtracks of the animated movie Raya.

During a recent interview in the Kapamilya morning talk show Magandang Buhay, KZ Tandingan was asked how she got the stint. The hosts of the show, especially Melai Cantiveros wanted to know if she auditioned for it or if she got invited.

She revealed that Disney just called Cornerstone Entertainment, the management company that is handling her career.

They contacted Cornerstone and they said that they wanted me to do it,” KZ shared. She also said that at first, she was apprehensive about it because she does not see herself being like a Disney Princess.

For KZ, her style and her voice is not the common perception of many as the one being used in Disney movies featuring princesses.

The singer also revealed that the coordination between Disney and her management happened last year.

KZ Tandingan’s song Gabay was already released on March 5 and available now on Spotify and other music streaming platforms.
