The opening of the said facility was after the Western Visayas regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-6)  turned over the facility to the Guimaras government, according to the Manila Bulletin.

The facility is located at the Capitol complex in Jordan town.

“We really need this facility to help stop local transmission of COVID-19 in Guimaras.  We can only do this if we isolate immediately the positive cases.  This will also ease the burden of the provincial government in fighting COVID-19,”

This came from a statement from Gov. Samuel Gumarin during the February 25 turnover ceremony.

The 16-room isolation facility can serve those who needed to be quarantined from the municipalities of Jordan, Buenavista, Nueva Valencia, San Lorenzo, and Sibunag.

The facility also has a male and female doctors’ quarters, nurses’ station and own restrooms.

The turnover was also attended by DPWH-6 Regional Director Lea Delfinado, Rep. Ma. Lucille Nava, Vice Gov. John Edward Gando and members of the Guimaras Provincial Board, based on the report.
