Catriona Gray talked about her discontinued TV5 show

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray opened up about the sudden cancellation of her show Sunday Noontime Live on TV5.

Catriona was among the main hosts of the musical variety show with Piolo Pascual, Maja Salvador, Jake Ejercito, and Donny Pangilinan. It is a known fact that aside from being a beauty queen, Catriona also sings and this show was a great way of showcasing her talent.

However, just like director Johnny Manahan, the beauty queen revealed that she was also shocked that their show was suddenly discontinued.

Based on the article in PEP, Catriona Gray said, “Well, very surprised. I think a lot of us were taken by surprise, especially all of the staff, ‘cause it came without really any prior notice.”

She recalled that the thanksgiving dinner that they had over virtual a month after SNL started airing. They were thankful that the show has catered a lot of retrenched employees due to the pandemic.

It was said that 30 members of the production staff of SNL were from ASAP Natin ‘To production team. They were among those who lost their jobs following the denied franchise of ABS-CBN.

“And so the show gave them a lot of hope and even the artists, they had a feeling of being very embraced and welcomed, and their talent was given spotlight,” Catriona Gray added.

She also expressed that she felt proud that she was given the opportunity to be part of SNL. “And of course, when it was taken away, [it] was definitely a sad thing. It was a sad moment,” the beauty queen said.
