Policemen In Cavite Arrest 209 COVID-19 Protocol Violators

CAVITE – Police officers in Cavite have recently arrested at about 209 people who were allegedly violating COVID-19 health protocols.

The local police information office reported said that among those arrested between February 21 to 23 were those who were not wearing face masks or disregarded the curfew, according to a report from Inquirer.

The violators were either fined or did community service. The province, which is currently modified general community quarantine or MGCQ, has recorded at about 20,514 COVID-19 cases, among them included 19,074 recoveries and 564 fatalities.

As of this moment, the province currently has 881 carriers of the virus.

Local police chief Colonel Marlon Santos also reported that anti-illegal drug operatives nabbed 16 drug suspects in that same period.

Retrieved from the suspecs were 43 sachets of illegal drugs, six sachets of Maryjane, drug paraphernalia, and cash believed to be from the sale of illegal drugs.

This, however, did not specify the volume and street value of the confiscated drugs, based on the report.

The police also arrested 32 illegal gamblers, four wanted criminals, 29 suspects for minor and major offenses, and 10 other violators of municipal ordinances.
