Customer Cancels Cake Order After 90-Year-Old Birthday Celebrator Died

Customer canceled the cake order on the day of delivery after the 90-year-old birthday celebrator passed away.

A home based baker identified as Jackylou Sanchez Husain of Butuan City stayed late at night just to bake the order of her customer. She baked two 10×4 cakes for an elderly birthday celebrant.

However, the baker received a message from customer canceling the order after the celebrator passed away. She asked advised from the netizens for her next step whether to continue baking the cakes or stop it.

Baker chef and vlogger RV Manabat advised her to continue baking the cake and send it to the family as a gesture of deepest sympathy towards the customer because it is difficult to collect the payment during their grief.

“So for the effort won’t go to waste, I would continue the cake and send it to the family. The challenge is, it’s hard to collect the payment, during their mourning times — I would just give the cake as a gesture of my deepest sympathy,” Manabat said.

Eventually, Husain decided to give the two cakes to the customer but only one has frosting. However, the client expressed its willingness to pay the cakes but decided to waive it.
