Several Photos of Coastal Waters Unusually Turn Reddish in Ozamiz City

Concerned netizens share several photos of coastal waters in Barangay San Roque Ozamiz City unusually turns into reddish brown color.

According to the report of Mindanao News Express, personnel of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Misamis Occidental immediately went to the area to investigate the unusual change of the sea color in Ozamis City, Sunday, February 21.

Based on the photos shared, the coastal waters turn reddish-brown. Ozamiz Maritime Police Station coordinated with the BFAR and assisted them in the process of taking a water sample for further examination and laboratory tests.

Meanwhile, the photos shared online has gone viral as many netizens were also shocked for the bizarre changing of waters. However, many netizens claimed that it was fake and edited but some claimed that it is a natural phenomenon.

Meanwhile, this morning, Monday, February 22, 2021, the seawater color is back to normal, after residents of the area were shocked by the bizarre change yesterday.  BFAR still investigating the cause of the unusual change.
