PAGASA – Signal No. 1 Up In More Areas In Philippines (February 19, 2021)

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in more areas in the Philippines.

The 8th severe weather bulletin from the state bureau says that Tropical Storm Auring maintains strength and is nearly stationary.

As of 10 PM today, Auring was last spotted at 435 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 105 kilometers per hour.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is currently hoisted over the following areas.

    • Northern Samar
    • Eastern Samar
    • Samar
    • Biliran
    • Leyte
    • Southern Leyte
    • Cebu
    • Negros Oriental
    • Bohol
    • Siquijor
  • Mindanao
    • Dinagat Islands
    • Surigao del Norte
    • Surigao del Sur
    • Agusan del Norte
    • Agusan del Sur
    • Davao Oriental
    • Davao de Oro
    • Davao del Norte
    • Davao City
    • Camiguin
    • Misamis Oriental
    • Misamis Occidental
    • Lanao del Norte
    • Bukidnon
    • Lanao del Sur

Areas under Signal No. 1 will face winds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour or intermittent rains within the next 36 hours.

It is forecast to move generally northwestward and accelerate over the next three days. It is also expected to make landfall over the eastern coast of Caraga Region on Sunday morning or afternoon.

Auring will then cross Visayas and MIMAROPA throughout the remainder of Sunday through Monday morning, based on the report.
