GWEN STEFANI – Grammy-winning pop star Gwen Stefani wrote an entry about Fil-Am singer Olivia Rodrigo for Time Magazine’s “2021 TIME100 Next.”

Filipino-American singer Olivia Rodrigo is the first breakout star of 2021. She became one of the biggest music stars after the release of her debut singe ‘Drivers License.’

Olivia’s song becomes record-breaking and chart-topping. In the first week of ‘Drivers License’ release, the track broke Spotify’s record twice.

Olivia Rodrigo made it to this years’ TIME 100 Next list and American singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani was all praises about the 17-year-old singer in an essay.

TIME recently released its 2nd annual list of 100 emerging leaders from around the world who are shaping the future. The list includes advocates, leaders, phenoms, innovators, and artists whose profiles were penned by some of the alumni of the TIME100.

Olivia Rodrigo is one of the artists who made it to the prestigious list and Grammy-winning singer Gwen Stefani had only nice things to say about her. She also explained why she thinks Rodrigo’s song become a record-breaking hit.

She wrote, “At just 17, Olivia Rodrigo is a master at turning her heartbreak into something glorious.”

“…while Olivia’s storytelling is confessional and intimate, it’s also larger than life. By pouring her heart out with so much courage and total command of her talent, Olivia made magic.”

“Every line in ‘Drivers License’ feels like it was ripped out of Olivia’s diary, each one containing a beauty and level of detail that makes you feel like you’re with her, driving through the suburbs of Southern California at night, lost in thought.”

Gwen Stefani also stressed why Olivia Rodrigo is an exceptional singer-songwriter and how she can inspire a lot of aspiring artists.

“Rare is the artist who can transport that way, especially at such a young age. And for anyone going through their first heartbreak, Olivia’s voice is a light in the dark, a promise that your pain can someday become a deep source of power.”

The young singer took to her Twitter account to react to Gwen’s flattering words. She wrote, “I’ve been a fan of Gwen for as long as I can remember. it’s so surreal to have her write about me. [Really] honored to be included in this incredible group of people.”
