Yakult is one of the most popular sweetened probiotic milk beverages in the Philippines and even abroad. A lot of Filipino people especially young children love to drink the cultured milk due to its delicious taste.
The milk beverage contains bacteria strain Lactobacillus paracasei Shirota, which helps to improve our digestion and gives benefit to the body’s health. The drink originated in Tokyo, Japan and first sold by Yakult Honsha.
However, most people are wondering why Yakult is only available in small bottles and the company also refused to make big bottles for a certain reason. The myth has been passed from generation to generation.
Recently, a Facebook user named Roseller Kempis send a message to Yakult Philippines asking the reason why they are not making bigger bottles. The post goes viral online and garnered various reactions from the netizens.
The company explained that the milk beverage carries live culture that will be prone to contamination once it’s not consumed at once. It must be consumed in one sitting because it is prone to contamination by frequent opening and closing of the lids.
