John Estrada talked about his co-star Pauline Mendoza
Veteran actor John Estrada admitted that he had a wrong first impression of young actress Pauline Mendoza.
Pauline top bills the Kapuso series Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat. Also included in the cast are Carmina Villarroel, Gio Alvarez, Tanya Gomez at Tanya Garcia-Lapid. During a recent media conference for their series, John was asked to describe the lead star, based on the article in Bandera.
“Ang unang-unang quality na nakita ko sa kanya, sobra niyang sipag. ‘Yung pagka-eager niya, she’s hungry, she’s so motivated,” John said about Pauline. He stressed that this is not what he saw with other young artists who were given a chance to be “bida”.
“’Yung iba naman you know wala pa man resulta ‘yung pagbibida nasa utak na nila, but hindi ko nakita kay Pauline ‘yun,” John Estrada stressed.
The veteran actor also shared that he would tell Pauline that it is true when younger artists are being pushed to their limits when it comes to taping hours. However, he reminded her that in this situation the biggest breaks in showbiz come.
John also commended Pauline for accepting the words of advice. On the other hand, this was not the first impression that the veteran actor had for the young actress.
“Well to tell you honestly, noong mga first taping days namin parang sabi ko, ‘Aba, parang may attitude ‘to.’ But, I was wrong, I was completely wrong!” John Estrada admitted.
He said that when they started the lock-in taping, that was the time when he knew more about Pauline.
“Kung ano sabihin mo sa kanya nakikinig siya, ginagawa niya. Kung mero’n ka ganu’ng qualities sa sarili mo, e, qualities ng isang superstar ‘yun. So, I wish her all the luck and I think Pauline is on the right track,” the actor added.
