Teenage Girl Delivers Baby by Roadside in Calbayog City While Heading to Hospital
CALBAYOG CITY – A teenage girl gives birth to her baby by the roadside at Barangay San Policarpo in Calbayog City.
On Thursday (February 11, 2021), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) assistant department head Leonard Obong reported that a 15-year-old girl in the city delivered her baby beside the road.
Obong narrated that the young lady experienced labor pain and heading on her way to the hospital for an ultrasound and check-up. The unnamed lady together with her mother is currently heading to the hospital when she experienced pain.
Unfortunately, the young mom was not able to reach the hospital and delivered her baby by the roadside in Barangay San Policarpo. The teenager was forced to give birth along the road because no ambulance arrived in the area.
Eventually, the Calbayog Rescue Team arrived at the scene to rush the young woman at the hospital.
