“Attention to all the moms out there
I hope this may serve as a lesson for all of us.
On Feb.8,2021 was supposed to be an enjoyable day for all of us since one of our friend will go to manila to look for work abroad. Our lolo pads decided to have an outing before we sent him off. We were supposed to enjoy and at the same time it was our way to escape reality. We went off to Hinobaan at around 9:00am and have some stop ever to pee and to eat lunch. We arrived at our destination which is the Nabulao Beach Resort and Spa at around 2:30 pm. It was a breathtaking place no wonder many people wanted to stay there. As we arrived in there, we were all excited to tour around the resort we left all our belongings at our room and have some chill outside that means drinking beer for the boys and juices for girls. The two babies Alexis and Alexa were happily playing in the sand. The two girls cannot control the temptation of the beach so we decided to bring them near the shoreline. Few minutes later my husband Joshua decided to join them. He’s teaching alexis on how to swim at first they were happy but then i heard an unusual cry of Alexis. At that moment i know something happened i rushed to both of them then saw my baby’s feet. Based on what i saw i know it was a venomous stingers of a Box Jellyfish. We bring her to where lolo pads is and I started to pour cold orange juice on her feet. While her daddy and lolo pads is busy removing the sting i went to the counter to ask for vinegar. In a short span of time I saw my husband crying while carrying my baby, behind him is Lolo pads who is asking for first aid. I went to them and to my horror i found my girl so pale and she already lost her consciousness. We decided to bring her to the nearest hospital. Luckily the resort where we are staying is near the rural hospital which later I found out the only hospital in town. While we were on our way to the hospital i was trying to calm myself and remembered what I’ve learned during college days and that is how to properly apply the CPR. I was trying to revive my baby it was so painful on our part to see her having delirium, lifeless and unresponsive. I can’t imagine my life without her to be honest during that time i was thinking if something happened to her what should i tell my parents and how to tell them. But then I tried to talk to her telling her how strong she is, her daddy also tried everything to make her laugh but still no response at all. We look for something to put on her mouth to prevent lockjaw. When we are few meters away from the hospital i saw her eyes were back to normal so i ask her to blink and when she respond i was so relieved. Indeed God is good he doesn’t want us to suffer instead he gaves us second chance to prove how worthy we are as parents to Alexis. I do believe that when you rely on God during difficulty and danger, He will give you confidence and power. I want to quote a bible verse on Psalm 28:7 “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.” Even though wala mayo namun na enjoy ang amon stay importante na dala namun puli c baby nga alive and safe. As what my friend said it is not a lesson learned but a charge to experience.
PS: Mommies make sure your babies are wearing protective suit during swimming and Please if possible avoid beaches because we don’t know what’s under the water.”
