Lani Misalucha Admits She Struggle W/ Singing After Hearing Loss

LANI MISALUCHA – Music icon Lani Misalucha has been left struggling to sing after hearing loss from bacterial meningitis.

In October 2020, Lani Misalucha and her husband Noli were diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. It is an infection of the membranes surrounding the spinal cord and brain.

Asia’s Nightingale revealed that she and her husband has lost all hearing in the right ear. In an interview with GMA News, she admitted that she felt devastated by it because her hearing is crucial to her being a singer.

Lani Misalucha uploaded her first selfie for 2021 on her Instagram account. In the caption, she revealed that she’s now using a hearing aid.

In her comeback performance, her friend Regine Velasquez couldn’t help but cry while watching her perform on television. She shared that they are still communicating with each other and she’s praying for Lani’s healing.

In a post on her Instagram account last February 2, Lani Misalucha said she is grateful she still gets to sing and be part of Kapuso’s variety show ‘All-Out Sundays’ anniversary episode last Jan. 31.

“I may be 2 days late but thank you for spending your afternoon with us last Sunday on @alloutsundays7. I cannot thank you enough for pouring out all your love and support to me,” she said.

Lani Misalucha also shared how her illness affected her singing. She said, “I’m still struggling with my singing. I cannot hear my voice well as well as the music. With the tinnitus being too predominant in my head is oftentimes masking the other sounds around me that also oftentimes driving me nuts.”

“But with all of you cheering me on I’m slowly regaining my confidence. Thank you uli. (may pa heart pa) Join us again this coming Sunday on @alloutsundays7 on @gmanetwork,” she added.
