Pres. Duterte Speaks About the Economy of the Philippines
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that the Philippine economy is “sinking deeper and deeper”.
Philippines is one of the countries that recorded cases of COVID-19. This coronavirus disease became a pandemic and over 200 nations and territories logged cases of the said disease.
The pandemic has brought a lot of changes in the country. Until now, classes are under a blended learning scheme as face-to-face classes are still prohibited.
Currently, the wearing of face mask and the practice of social distancing are part of the protocols when going outdoors. There are specified consequences depending on the local government units for individuals who would be caught not abiding by the protocols.

Community quarantine measures are still up in the Philippines. Unfortunately, while the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over, there is another variant of the coronavirus disease that sparks threats to public health.
The economy of the Philippines is greatly affected by the lockdowns implemented in line with the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte admitted that the PH economy is “sinking deeper and deeper”.
According to the President, the Philippines is losing P2 billion fund every day to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, the said amount could have been for the Filipino people.
“The workers, the Filipino workers would have earned that money kung ang ekonomiya natin gumagalaw,” Pres. Duterte said based on the report.
The President expressed that the economy of the country is in bad shape but the other countries are experiencing the same as well due to the pandemic. He assured that the government is doing its best.
