A movie about the life of Andress Bonifacio is in the works
Who will portray Andres Bonifacio in a movie about his life? Here are some of the personalities who are being perceived to fit in the role.
Several movies in the Philippines were already dedicated to depict the lives of the “heroes” who fought for the country during the years when Filipinos were still under the colonizers.
The life of Jose Rizal has been played on TV and movies for several times. Just recently, the lives and Antonio Luna and Gregorio del Pilar were a hit on the big screen.
Based on the article by entertainment columnist Ricky Lo in The Philippine Star, the movie featuring the life of Andres Bonifacio tagged as The Father of the Philippine Revolution is in the works.
It was said that Reality Entertainment producer-director tandem Dondon Monteverde and Erik Matti already announced that they are set to produce the ultimate depiction of Bonifacio’s life. They also expressed that shooting will start in the next few months.
Reportedly, here is the list of choices for the role of Andres Bonifacio.
- Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto
- Manila Mayor Isko Moreno
- Alden Richards (played Dr. Jose Rizal in a GMA teledrama)
- Coco Martin (plays a cop in Ang Probinsyano)
- Dingdong Dantes (played folk hero Robin Hood in Alyas Robinhood, a soldier in Descendants of the Sun)
- Jericho Rosales
- Raymond Bagatsing (played Pres. Manuel L. Quezon in the critically-acclaimed Quezon’s Game).
Apparently, this list is showing a wide range of choices. Some of them have already played a hero role on TV and in movies in the past. Based on the article, initial negotiations may be going on already now
